This year would mark FashionValet’s (“FV”) ninth year since inception and there is lots to celebrate! Being in two very fast-paced industries namely ecommerce and fashion, FV has been influential in shaping the online fashion scene over the past decade. 2019 sees the start of a new chapter for FV with a renewed focus, new leaders and new markets.
New Leadership
After years of being managed by Fadzarudin Anuar (“Fadza”) himself, a new General Manager (“GM”) has finally been appointed to Nadia Alisya Norzuhdy (“Nadia”), formally FV’s Head of Marketing. Nadia joined the company in 2016 and in a short span of time has shown her excellent ability to lead. Of course, a good sense of style is always an added bonus - especially with her iconic “turbow”! Nadia will take the reigns of FV now from its day-to-day operations to strategic planning. Fadza and Vivy Yusof (“Vivy”) will now assume Group level functions, with Fadza being the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the Group and Vivy as the Chief Creative Officer (“CCO”) respectively. As Founders, their role is to continue to grow the Group as a whole to greater heights.
In addition to a new GM, other new additions were recently appointed to lead the company in various departments.
Chief Financial Officer - Loh Toh Meei
A very experienced C-level addition to FV. Former CFO at two publicly listed companies, Ekowood International Berhad and TSH Resources Berhad. She was also the former CFO at Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.
Chief Technology Officer - Aien Zaini
Years of experience heading the technology development and innovation of companies like YTL, GEMFIVE (Hong Leong Group) and most recently, Asia’s investor marketplace to name a few.
Creative Director of House Brands – Min Luna Kamaruddin
For the past decade has been an instrumental creative force behind Malaysia’s fashion industry and has vast experience styling and conceptualising looks for major A-list celebrities, runway fashion shows and campaigns.
Country Manager, Dubai - Noor Bhat
Her ecommerce experiences include being a Business Development and Global Expansion professional with experience in fashion ecommerce in the Middle East. Having lived there for many years, she was also the former MENA Country Manager for ecommerce giant Modanisa.com.
The company looks forward to welcoming them to their management team, one that is predominantly led by young female talent of which FV is proud to declare.
New Direction and Focus
Since their launch in 2010, FV was in its first phase of discovering local brands and bridging them to customers, and have enjoyed doing so. After 8 years, they are now entering their second phase, which is to build brands to grow globally. FV’s 2019 aim is to be even more curated with less brands and more focused on growing these while keeping an eye on acquiring potential brands. The FV Group aspires to be a retail group that builds brands with growth potential, to this end, provides them with end-to-end services. Another major focus for FV is market expansion starting with the Middle East in which FV sees a huge potential. A brand new Dubai office is currently underway with plans to set up a warehouse to lessen the logistical wait-time for Middle Eastern customers.
New Technology Enhancements
Fv has also launched its new website in efforts to improve its customer experience. Front-end enhancements include image search, a faster and more accurate textual search function, seamless checkout process and an elevated shopping experience with UI/UX improvements throughout the site. Plus, the highly anticipated mobile app is finally launching! These are supported by an enhanced back-end to support FV’s omnichannel model of having both online and offline platforms with its warehouse, which FV is strengthening to cater for 2019’s growth. Also logistics offer same day store pickups and same day delivery in the Klang Valley. Both are free of charge, which other ecommerce platforms do not offer. Customers who order before 4pm, will receive it on the same day. FV is constantly working to shorten this delivery time.
New Office
In September 2018, FV proudly moved to Glo Damansara Mall, which now serves as its new headquarters that house a more product-focused and technologically advanced FashionValet! The FV Warehouse, which stores more stock and where the processing of orders takes place, will remain in Kota Damansara. FV’s new headquarters measures 24,000 square feet boasting a fully equipped gym, shower rooms, prayer rooms, multiple discussion rooms and office suites, a 20-seater conference room, a children’s playroom, 2 nursing rooms, 3 pantries and an amphitheatre. The company staff has grown to over 200 members including their Singapore and Dubai teams. Founders, Fadza and Vivy are fans of open-planned office designs choosing to sit amongst their team members versus in private offices. Energy is always buzzing at the FV office!
To sum up, 2019 is predicted to be a big year once again with new changes in direction, new leadership and an improved customer service. One thing remains with FV, is that customers always come first and providing the best user experience. FV is excited to be under the tutelage of new GM, Nadia and look forward to see where Fadza and Vivy will take the Group next!
